Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic is at UN HQ in New York today discussing Kosovo with representatives of the General Secretariat. The main theme of the talks is the current situation in Kosovo. Jeremic at UN to discuss Kosovo During his stay, Jeremic will have separate meetings with UNMIK Chief Lamberto Zannier and Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Alain Le Roy. Meetings are also scheduled with the UN permanent representatives of Egypt, Nicaragua, South Africa, Russia, Brazil, Venezuela, Singapore and Indonesia. The minister said earlier that he would be discussing the implementation of the six-point plan and “the exceptionally disturbing developments in Kosovo,” explaining that, by this, he meant the creation of the “paramilitary, so-called Kosovo Security Forces.” He said that he would be consulting with UN Security Council member-states over this, and would propose the holding of a special session devoted to assessing the international community’s next report on the situation in the province.
