SDP official Meho Omerovic has called Sulejman Ugljanin’s accusations that Rasim Ljajic ordered his murder “monstrous.” “We used to think that the diatribe that Sulejman Ugljanin comes out with did not warrant special comment or response. However, after the latest monstrous accusations that the incident in Novi Pazar was an attempted murder plot organized by Rasim Ljajic, we will not and cannot stay silent, because the people must know the truth,” said the vice-president of the Sandzak Democratic Party (SDP). SDP: Ugljanin accusations “monstrous” The most recent incident in Novi Pazar occurred on Saturday at the offices of the Bosniak List for a European Sandzak, where four people were injured, one of whom was shot through the leg. The incident ensued after a dispute between the Bosniak List and local authority officials regarding the rights to usage of state-owned office space. Omerovic reminded the press of everything Ugljanin had said since Saturday in order to “justify his illegal actions.” “Ugljanin first justified his loutish break-in into a state institution with allegations that someone was trying to stop the work of his coalition,” Omerovic said, adding that afterwards, the Bosniak List leader had said that he had not even been at the scene of the incident, and then that he had, because the police chief had called him. “Ugljanin’s MP said in parliament that Saturday’s events in Novi Pazar had been attacks on the Bosniak institutions, that they had compromised the rights of the Bosniaks, and then he remembers, three days later, to say that it had actually been an assassination attempt on the Bosniak List’s leader,” Omerovic said. He said that Ugljanin was trying to hide the truth from the people. “Ugljanin no longer has a party and if anyone is the organizer of his party’s political suicide, he is,” Omerovic said, adding that Ugljanin “does nothing” in the government and “is not a minister without portfolio”, rather a “minister for incidents.”
