War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic has submitted a report on the smuggling of harvested organs in Albania to the Council of Europe office in Belgrade. As announced earlier, the report is due to be passed to the CoE's special rapporteur on the organ trade, Dick Marty, who is expected to visit Belgrade soon. Organ trade report submitted to CoE

The War Crimes Prosecution launched an investigation into the organ trading allegations last year on the basis of claims in former Hague Chief Prosecutors Carla Del Ponte's book, "The Hunt".

The prosecution is investigating claims that, during and after the 1999 war in the province, Kosovo Albanians kidnapped hundreds of Serbs and other non-Albanians, transporting them to northern Albania, where their vitals organs were harvested and sold illegally.
