Norwegian Ambassador Hakon Blankenborg says it is unlikely that his country will withdraw its recognition of Kosovo. He also told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti that Norway will await for the International Court of Justice, ICJ, decision. Norway awaits court decision Belgrade has asked the ICJ to rule on the legality of the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence. "Norway has voted for Kosovo's independence, but realizing how complicated the issue is we voted in the UN General Assembly in favor of taking the case before the International Court of Justice in The Hague," the ambassador said. Asked whether his country might reverse its decision on recognizing Kosovo, Blankenborg said, "there'll hardly be any turning back, but we are awaiting the court's decision". "In the meantime," he continued, "the most important thing is that the institutions are doing all that the six-points cover, since the issue of Kosovo does not stop life". The Norwegian ambassador added that the Kosovo issue is "in part political and in part legal", and that Serbia has in the past months "done a lot to promote her position".
