The Belgrade press writes that New Serbia leader Velimir Ilic hit a taxi with his jeep while exiting the parliamentary car park yesterday. According to dailies Blic and Politika, after the crash, Ilic got out of his vehicle and hurled a torrent of abuse at the taxi driver before driving off, without waiting for police to arrive. The taxi driver said that Ilic had hit him with his jeep, crashing into the left side of his car, but that he had driven off as soon as he had established that no damage had been done to his jeep. The driver told Blic that Ilic had insulted him, using some “choice words”. Ilic confirmed that the accident had occurred, adding that he had not waited for the police as he had been running late for a television show. “I have no idea where the taxi came from.
