The Liberal-Democrats (LDP) will not support a cabinet no-confidence motion in parliament, leader Cedomir Jovanovic has revealed. Speaking at a meeting of the party's main board on Sunday in Belgrade, Jovanovic said the opposition LDP will in fact "oppose this initiative in a more organized and serious manner than the government itself". LDP won't vote to bring down govt. The motion was tabled by 86 MPs from the ranks of the DSS, SRS and NS, with the debate set to open on Nov. 28. The Serb Progressive Party (SNS) announced earlier it will support the move to vote the current government out of office. The central issue of the motion is criticism of the position the Cvetkovic cabinet has taken on the EULEX deployment in Kosovo. But the LDP leader says his party has "nothing in common" with the other opposition parties that initiated the no-confidence move. "Any form of partnership with the policy that has destroyed Serbia is unacceptable to us. Pushing Serbia into new elections would be tantamount to a political crime," Jovanovic was quoted as saying today. According to him, there are many reasons to criticize the government, "but the LDP has not recognized any of those in the DSS, NS and SRS initiative".
