Parliament continued its session with more questions from the opposition instead of debating the laws on its agenda. The opposition has called on ruling coalition representatives to comment on current events, particularly related to Kosovo. Parliament sidestepping agenda again Quoting media reports, Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) MPs asked whether Serbia was negotiating with other countries whether to, and when to, recognize Kosovo’s unilateral independence declaration. They said that Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic had told the Reuters news agency that Montenegrin and Serbian officials had agreed on Montenegro’s recognition of Kosovo, but had agreed to postpone it until after approval of Serbia’s initiative before the UN General Assembly to address the International Court of Justice. Serb Radical Party (SRS) officials called for the Kosovo resolution submitted over the summer by 108 SRS, DSS and New Serbia MPs to be put on the parliamentary agenda. They said that a debate on that resolution was being postponed “on the orders of Boris Tadic”, because that document opposes the deployment of the EULEX mission. Parliament had been to resume its debate today on the draft law on the criminal liability of legal entities. 21 amendments have been submitted to the draft law, which, for the first time, stipulates legal entities’ liability for criminal acts, as hitherto only liability for commercial infringements has been envisaged. On Thursday, Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic announced the possibility of parliament working on Saturday too, should the debate on the amendments run beyond today. Also on the agenda is a debate on amendments to the draft law on foreigners and the protection of state borders, whose adoption is necessary for liberalization of the visa regime. MPs are also due to consider amendments to the draft law on the Ant-Corruption Agency, changes to the Law on the Funding of Political Parties, as well as amendments to the Law on Higher Education.
