Skopje criticizes ambassador expulsion This was confirmed by Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Bocevski. “Macedonian Ambassador to Belgrade Aco Vasilevski has left Belgrade. He has already scheduled consultations with Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Miloshoski. Macedonia is carefuly monitoring matters on the ground, we’ve been in contact with the Serbian government, they were notified before Macedonia announced its decision. Macedonia has done nothing but recognize a reality that has existed in the Balkans for some time,“ said Bocevski. Meanwhile, Montenegro Ambassador Anka Vojvodic says she will be leaving Belgrade today. Although Vojvodic views the decision as a response to Podgorica’s recognition of independence, she believes that any further measures would be counter-productive. “As Montenegrin ambassador, I was the first to feel the effects of the packet of measures the Serbian government has in the event of a country recognizing Kosovo, and it is probably not considered to be the same thing expelling the ambassador of a small country, as opposed to a big country,“ she said. The government’s decision to expel the two ambassadors is the first time that Serbia has taken such measures against countries recognizing Kosovo.
