The European Commission (EC) and the Kosovo institutions signed a financial agreement earmarking EUR 122.7mn for development.

The European Commission (EC) and the Kosovo institutions signed a financial agreement earmarking EUR 122.7mn for development. The signing of the agreement is part of an annual EC program, and Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said after the deal was signed with Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, that he came to Pristina in order to show how much attention the EC was attaching to Kosovo's European future. EC allocates funds to Kosovo "Over EUR 100mn are intended for projects which aim to improve the daily life in Kosovo, and are a clear sign that we care. We are now counting on the Kosovo institutions to secure stable economic management, to continue the fiscal discipline and the efficient coordination of donations in order to guarantee the successful managing of the funds," Rehn stated.
