German Ambassador to Belgrade Wolfram Maas says that Serbia has improved its image in Europe. Maas told Belgrade daily Blic that “the formation of the pro-European government, the decisive action the new government has taken in the arrest of Radovan Karadzic, and the country’s determination for the EU path is impressive.” "Serbia in successful image makeover" The ambassador also said that the fact that President Tadic had received the prestigious Quadriga award in Berlin for his contribution to regional peace and stability had reinforced an image of Serbia that was “a different picture to the one Europe had only a year ago.” He said that by arresting Karadzic, Serbia had proven that it was able to extradite Hague fugitives. "I am completely convinced that Serbia is able to extradite Ratko Mladic, thus removing the last political obstacle towards the EU. All that would remain then would be for Serbia to simply continue its European Union path,” Maas explained.
