Speaker Slavica Djukic Dejanovic says that parliament will discuss her dismissal next week. She says that a new session will be held next week and that the top item of the agenda will be the opposition’s motion for her dismissal. Parliament to debate speaker dismissal The speaker told Beta that she had not scheduled the session yet, but that it would probably take place on Tuesday, because the Code of Procedure states that parliament does not work on Fridays and Mondays. She said that the absolute priority would be discussion of her dismissal. Other items on the agenda might include motions for the dismissal of judges, the formation of various parliamentary delegations, as well as proposals for the formation of various parliamentary boards, providing they are ready. Djukic Dejanovic said that MPs were due to discuss draft laws needed to put Serbia on the White Schengen List. She said that a draft data protection law would soon come on to parliament’s agenda. Parliament is also due to discuss a set of laws to confirm agreements providing new funds to accelerate the country’s economic growth, she said. The motion to dismiss the speaker has been filed by MPs from the Serb Radical Party, the Democratic Party of Serbia and New Serbia. They accused her of breaching the Constitution when she cut short the session of July 21, allegedly on the orders of President Boris Tadic, without prior consultations with MPs, and in violation of the Code of Procedure.
