Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic says he will intensify talks with UNMIK for the sake of the Kosovo Serbs. “I am aware of the fact that there is potential danger on the field, that Serbs in enclaves could possibly enter a situation where they will not have anyone but EULEX to call on, and that is why we are intensifying talks with UNMIK (regarding the respect and implementation of Resolution 1244 in all Serb communities),” Bogdanovic told the Beta news agency. The goal will be not be to talk without results, the upcoming meeting with (UNMIK Chief Lamberto) Zannier will have to go to all the way,” Bogdanovic underlined. He added that Belgrade was asking for the “minimum of minimums” and that its demands must be accepted because it was not fair to only accept the demands of the Albanians. Bogdanovic said that Belgrade insisted on talks and solving the problem with UNMIK. “Talks with UNMIK officials were initiated in order to find a better solution for Serbs and other non-Albanians that live in difficult conditions and in an environment without security or legal property protection,” the minister said. He added that for Belgrade “UNMIK is the only legitimate organization with which it can solve the problem.” “We want all agreements signed with UNMIK to be respected and to fully help in the implementation of Resolution 1244, not only in Serb communities but throughout Kosovo,” Bogdanovic said.
