The government has adopted a decree on an emergency 10-percent increase of pensions in October. The government Office for Media Relations made the announcement after a regular cabinet session in Belgrade on Thursday. Government opts to hike pensions The decree on the emergency increase of pensions determines a 10-percent increase simultaneously with the regular harmonizing of pensions in keeping with the articles of the law on pension and disability insurance, the statement said. The government also adopted a decision on the redistribution of funds envisaged under the budget law for the year 2008 for the National Investment Plan, which set aside RSD 3.1bn for the construction of a bypass around Belgrade, instead of the RSD 2.7bndinars planned previously.
