SRS vice president Milorad Mircic says Velimir Ilic’s statement that people were tired of protests was his personal opinion. Mircic added that the comments coming from the New Serbia leader would not affect the announced street protests, set to be organized by the Radicals (SRS). Radicals: People to decide on demos “This is not about the Radicals' discontent, but about that of the majority of Serbia. The SRS only wants to articulate that discontent,” he told Novi Sad daily Dnevnik. Mircic said that the distancing of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and New Serbia (NS) from protests would not have a significant impact, "because it is up to citizens to decide whether the time is right for protests, not up to political parties and individuals". "These is the current estimate of the DSS and NS, and it doesn’t have to be final. Further developments will show whether the opposition will gather together to bring down the regime,” he stated. The SRS official repeated that his party is willing to "unblock the parliament", provided that the rules of procedure are respected, "and those issues imposed by everyday life". "The key of the parliament's obstruction is the energy agreement [with Russia]. The postponement of the parliamentary session, basically, had the goal of delaying the signing of the agreement with Russia. However, since Serbia has become a state of absurdities, now the government accuses the opposition for the obstruction,” Mircic concluded.
