Deputy PM Božidar Đelić has thanked Slovakia for supporting Serbia's efforts to preserve its territorial integrity.

Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic has thanked Slovakia for supporting Serbia's efforts to preserve its territorial integrity. “We have a true and enduring partner in that EU member-state,” said Djelic in Backi Petrovac yesterday at the opening of the 47th annual Slovakian national celebration, adding that Slovakia was making a big contribution to Serbia’s endeavors to join the EU as soon as possible. Djelic thanks Slovakia for support Pointing out that Slovakia was one of Serbia’s most significant partners at almost every European forum, the minister said that Serbia could learn from that country how to achieve major economic results in a relatively short time. A congratulatory telegram to participants at the Slovak community’s most important celebration also arrived from Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic, while the country’s deputy prime ministers Dusan Caplovic and Stefan Haradin also attended the event on behalf of the government. The event, which runs until tomorrow, was also attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic, Ministers Snezana Samardzic-Markovic and Zarko Obradovic, representatives from parliament, the Vojvodina Executive, Serbian municipalities, religious communities, and other guests.
