A deputy to the Kosovo PM said today that the government in Pristina will establish law and order in the north. The northern area of the province is inhabited by Serbs who reject the unilateral declaration of independence proclaimed in Pristina by the Kosovo Albanians. K. He added that this will be done "without the use of force". After a government meeting today, he said that work was ongoing with the president of Kosovo's constitutional court "to normalize the judicial system in the whole territory of Kosovo". Kuci also quoted "three conditions" for this, and specified that they include "enforcement of Kosovo's laws, that will be a part of the Kosovo court system", while judges must be appointed and dismissed by a court council set up in Pristina. All of this, according to him, will be implemented without violence, "because the Kosovo authorities do not nurture the logic of use of army or police", but that of "appeal". Kuci said cooperation was established with the international community "to put the situation under control but without creating tensions".
