The poll, conducted by the Indeks Kosova agency, shows that this problem overshadows those of electricity supply, economic revival, poverty, and the Kosovska Mitrovica question. Kosovo citizens top priority: unemployment It also shows that the Kosovo government should have three priorities—the energy sector, the rule of law, and health care, immediately followed by education, public health care, and social welfare programs. Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu and former Prime Minister Agim Cheku are still the most popular figures in the public’s opinion, followed by Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj. If elections were to be held tomorrow, the ruling Democratic Party of Kosovo would get 42 percent of the vote, the Democratic Alliance 29, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 16 percent, with the remaining opposition parties trailing far behind. The Kosovo Police Service and Kosovo Protection Corps still enjoy the most trust among the province’s citizens, while confidence in the UNMIK police, the “Self-Determination” movement and the courts has fallen significantly.. According to the poll, Kosovo citizens are more willing to protest over unemployment, power supply, and small wages than before. 998 people over the age of 18 were surveyed from all the province’s ethnic communities, except the Serbs.
