Following SRS threats that Boris Tadic could “end up like Djindjic and Obrenovic“, the DS expects a reaction from the judiciary. The Democratic Party (DS) and G17 Plus have vigorously condemned the threats coming from Serb Radical Party MP Vjerica Radeta to the president. DS calls on prosecution to react The parties have called on the prosecution to react immediately, and launch criminal proceedings against her, claiming she was guilty of jeopardizing security. DS whip Nada Kolundzija told B92 that Radeta’s comments could be interpreted as a call for further violence. “It is with regret that we have to conclude that Radeta's comments could be interpreted as a call for violence, as justification for Zoran Djindjic’s murder,” said Kolundzija. G17 Plus official Zeljko Ivanji, on behalf of the party, has called on the prosecution to react immediately and launch proceedings against Radeta. “It’s disgraceful that eight years after the democratic changes in Serbia that anyone should be making such death threats to the president. It’s disgraceful that the most tragic event in Serbian history should be interpreted in such an off-hand, primitive manner,“ Ivanji told B92.
