A Rasim Ljajic-led coalition in Novi Pazar and the United Serb List have formed a majority in the Sandzak town's assembly. "For a European Novi Pazar" ticket, led by Ljajic's Sandzak Democratic Party (SDP), has thus established local authorities with the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), New Serbia (NS), the Serb Radical Party (SRS) and the Socialists Party of Serbia (SPS). Ljajic, Radicals team up in Novi Pazar After the verification of the mandates today and the ascertainment of the local assembly chairman Zekerije Dugopoljac that there was no majority, Radical Milan Veselinovic said that this majority existed, "after all". This means that Sulejman Ugljanin's Bosniak List for a European Novi Pazar is no longer the main political force in town, and that Ugljanin himself will no longer be the mayor. His deputies left the assembly meeting earlier in the day. The Novi Pazar assembly has 47 seats, 23 belong to the SDP-led coalition; 18 local deputies come from Ugljanin's list, and six from the United Serb List. Both Ljajic and Ugljanin will be ministers in the new Serbian government.
