An amendment to the Law on Ministries proposing that the Human and Minority Rights Ministry be combined with the Justice Ministry has been withdrawn. That means that the Human and Minority Rights Ministry will be a single ministry. DS withdraws divisive amendment The amendment was withdrawn by Marko Djurisic, from the Democratic Party (DS)-led “For a European Serbia” list. “Since the general consensus is that the question of human and minority rights should be handled by a special ministry, we think that that is all right too,” said DS official Nada Kolundzija. Opposition and minority parties raised objections to reports yesterday that there would not be a ministry dedicated exclusively to the issue of human and minority rights. Under the draft Law on Ministries, the new Serbian government will be made up of 24 ministries.
