Democratic Party (DS) Whip Nada Kolundzija says that during the talks with the SPS over forming a new govt., the DS insisted on Belgrade being part of the package. Kolundzija told journalists at parliament that once the government was formed, talks would continue on creating a Belgrade local authority. DS: State, Belgrade govts. to match However, Serb Radical Party (SRS), Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) representatives claim that that coalition’s unity had been reaffirmed to form a coalition in the capital. “I believe the coalition at republic level will be a model for the formation of other local self-governments,“ said the DS whip, adding that talks were already under way. SPS senior official Zarko Obradovic, however, denied that there had been any talks on forming a local authority with the DS. The Belgrade assembly’s constitutive session has been scheduled for July 14, and the DSS, SRS, and SPS have signed an agreement to take power then. Meanwhile, NS Vice-President Dubravka Filipovska said at a meeting of the prospective ruling coalition today that the unity of that coalition regarding the formation of a local authority had been confirmed. The talks were held at the premises of the NS, and were attended also by Aleksandar Vucic (SRS), Andreja Mladenovic (DSS), Borivoje Borovic (NS), and Aleksandar Antic of the SPS. “We confirmed the unity of the coalition regarding the assembly’s constitutive session on July 14, as well as our coalition's determination to see the electoral will of the citizens of Belgrade respected,” the NS vice-president stressed. However, Serb Radical Party (SRS), Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) representatives claim that that coalition’s unity had been reaffirmed to form a coalition in the capital.
