Koštunica: SPS shows true face

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) President Vojislav Koštunica on Thursday accused the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) of having "shown its true face".

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) President Vojislav Kostunica on Thursday accused the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) of having "shown its true face". The outgoing premier's comments came at his party's main board session in Belgrade today. Kostunica: SPS shows true face Kostunica said that the Socialists, by entering a coalition with DS-led group of parties spared the DSS-NS coalition from forging an alliance with someone who "has no convictions but recognizes only own interests". Kostunica also said his party was now going to be the opposition in parliament, resolved to continue fighting for the state and national interests of Serbia. The DSS leader pointed out that there has been long-term propaganda in the country and abroad which is aimed at showing the DSS as anti-European. The DSS is tirelessly and uncompromisingly fighting for Serbia and the preservation of Kosovo, and not against Europe or European values, he said. "We will never agree to pay with 15 percent of the territory of Serbia for the attribute of being pro-European, nor will we ever accept that we are not pro-Europe just because we are defending Serbia's integrity," Kostunica said.
