A meeting of the inner circle of the Democratic Party (DS) presidency ended this afternoon without any decision on who the party's candidate for premier may be. Leader Boris Tadic was earlier expected to announce the candidate this evening. The presidency meeting today lasted for over five hours, reports said. Democrats still without PM candidate The DS main board earlier authorized Tadic to conduct negotiations to form a new government. Tadic, who is also Serbia's president, will send a proposal to elect the next prime minister and his cabinet to parliament once parties assure him they have the majority. Beta news agency reports today that the debate on electing a new government could make it to the parliamentary agenda on Friday. Unofficially, the most likely candidates for premiership are Mirko Cvetkovic and Vuk Jeremic. Beta's sources also said earlier in the day that Jeremic stood a better chance to be nominated by his party.
