LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic told the daily Blic that his party will not agree to SPS president Ivica Dacic becoming minister of the interior. According to him, "Dacic will not do anything in the fight against corruption and crime, because he would have to arrest the SPS ", a party that, Jovanovic said, "achieved their policies through criminal means". The LDP leader also said that the Socialists "are not ready to cooperate with the Hague Tribunal and reexamine the role they had in destroying Serbia,” but that his party "will not allow Dacic to be Tadic’s alibi for not arresting Ratko Mladic, because the LDP has 13 parliamentary representatives, compared to SPS’s 12." According to Jovanovic, the LDP will support the coalition of the DS-led “For a European Serbia” and the SPS-PUPS-JS "because it enables the ratification of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU". Such a government, he went on to say, "will be the victorious point of LDP’s eight year fight against DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica".
