WTA World No. 1 Ana Ivanovic received a magnificent welcome from thousands of Belgraders outside the City Assembly building Tuesday. "I celebrated the biggest success in my career in Paris, but no celebration can match what you prepared for me," Ivanovic, who won her first Grand Slam at the French Open on Sunday told the crowd. Thousands welcome Ivanovic in Belgrade " I dreamed about this for years and I'm happy that I can celebrate this dream coming true in my hometown with all of you." Ivanovic is the first female tennis player in Serbia's history to win a Grand Slam title, and the first to top the WTA tour. Earlier, speaking in a news conference, Ivanovic said that the most important condition for the progress of tennis in Serbia is there, and that this is the enthusiasm of children taking up the sport. "We should just continue to build new tennis courts and give them room to develop their talent," she said. Ivanovic added that her next objective was to win the Wimbledon tournament. "I am very motivated to be ranked high on the list in Wimbledon. My triumph at Roland Garros gave me strength for a new endeavor," said the 20-year-old Belgraders, who secured her first title in Canberra, three years ago.
