Coordinator of the Forum for Ethnic Relations Dusan Janjic says that Serbia is under a security threat because its most vital state institutions “are not doing their jobs.” "We really are under a security threat, because institutions are not doing their jobs. “Serbia faces security risk” I’m not talking about the police or the secret services (BIA). I’m talking about the decision makers— the president and the prime minister,” Janjic told Beta. He said that he was especially concerned at the lack of any public reports about the security situation in the south of the country. Commenting on the recent shootings during the elections in Macedonia, where one person was killed and eight injured, and the dangers that might come as a result, Janjic reiterated that a “significant number of Albanians from the south of Serbia participated in every clash and incident that took place in neighboring Macedonia”. "That territory is connected, since there is a great Albanian desire for unity,” he said. According to Janjic, the main aim of the incidents during the elections was to hinder Macedonia’s entry to the EU and NATO. He said that these events could have a direct impact on Serbia. "This opens the issue of Serbia’s EU membership and the question of borders,” Janjic said. He raised the possibility of territorial exchange, and said that Serbia was ready for that, since, like in Israel or Palestine “a situation of two states has been formed.”
