Šešelj trial witness to face contempt of court charges

Ljubisa Petkovic was transferred today from Serbia to the Tribunal’s Detention Unit for refusing to appear as a witness at Seselj’s trial. Petkovic is charged with contempt of the court, due to his failure to answer the Tribunal’s confidential subpoena of April 7, 2008 to appear as a Chamber’s witness in the case of Vojislav Seselj, states a Tribunal press release. Today, the Chamber lifted confidentiality from the aforesaid order. On May 13, 2008, the Trial Chamber issued a confidential order in lieu of an indictment and an arrest warrant for Petković.

Today, the Chamber lifted confidentiality from the aforesaid order.
