There will be no compromise over forming a coalition at republic and Belgrade level, claims senior G17 Plus official Suzana Grubjesic. Grubjesic told B92 that if an agreement was reached between the Serb Radical Party (SRS), Democratic Party of Serbia–New Serbia (DSS-NS) and the coalition gathered around the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) to form a Belgrade local government, G17 Plus would support a minority national government, but would not participate in it. G17 Plus: No compromise The G17 Plus official said that her party would not consent to any compromise that would allow the SPS coalition to form a local government with the SRS and DSS in Belgrade, while forming a government with “For a European Serbia” at national level. "In this instance, that would be a truly rotten compromise,” she stressed. The Belgrade coalition agreement between the SRS, the DSS, and the coalition gathered around the SPS means that the G17 Plus party will not participate in forming a new national government, though it could still support a minority government. Grubjesic said that the differences between those two levels of support were obvious. "You are not responsible for the decisions that the government takes. We’ll not participate in that government, but we intend to support the good decisions, and to reject the bad ones”, said the G17 Plus official. She said that this position was understood by their coalition partners from the Democratic Party, who also refused to sacrifice Belgrade for the sake of a national government.
