A reception was held at Belgrade's City Hall last night to mark 60 years since the founding of the state of Israel. Israeli Ambassador Arthur Koll told reporters at the event that Israel's Independence Day is special to his countrymen, since the anniversary of the establishment of Israel is also a day to remember all the sacrifices made in the past six decades. Israel's statehood day marked in Belgrade Koll described the cooperation between Serbia and Israel as "very good", but added that there is "potential for it to become much better", not only in the sector of economy, but also when it comes to cultural and other cooperation. The reception was attended by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, leaders of the Jewish community in Serbia, the Israeli Business Forum, members of the diplomatic corps, and public and political figures. Koll described the cooperation between Serbia and Israel as "very good", but added that there is "potential for it to become much better", not only in the sector of economy, but also when it comes to cultural and other cooperation.
