Fatmir Sejdiu believes that Kosovo will "very soon become a member of Euro-Atlantic institutions". The Kosovo president, who was visiting Gnjilane, based his optimism over the issue on the "support from the most important European countries". Sejdiu talks Euro-Atlantic integration "I deeply believe we will be in Euro-Atlantic integrations, bearing in mind our readiness and the support of the democratic world, especially Washington and Brussels," he was quoted. While he described Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence as a "basis for everything else", Sejdiu said "a lot of work, more responsibility and changes" are needed. He continued that the conditions of living and working of the residents of Kosovo must be improved, adding that "the Kosovo constitutions is a basis for a democratic and stable state, that will respect human rights". Sejdiu also said that the "foundation of the state of Kosovo" is the Ahtisaari plan of supervised independence, rejected by Belgrade.
