French Ambassador to Serbia Jean Francois Terral conferred Friday in Bujanovac with the leaders of ethnic Albanian parties there.

French Ambassador to Serbia Jean Francois Terral conferred Friday in Bujanovac with the leaders of ethnic Albanian parties there. Their possible joint participation in early parliamentary elections on May 11 was the subject of the meeting, Tanjug news agency said. French ambassador visits Albanians in south Democratic Union of the Valley leader Skender Destani told the agency that Terral first met with Democratic Party of Albanians leader and municipality President Ragmi Mustafa in Presevo. In Bujanovac, Teral conferred with Destani and Democratic Action Party leader Riza Halimi. Teral pointed to the importance of the elections and of possible joint participation of ethnic Albanian political parties, Destani said. He added that he told the ambassador that his party will not take part in the polls as it is dissatisfied with the conduct of Halimi's party. Halimi was the only ethnic Albanian legislator in the previous parliament. U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Cameron Munter also earlier urged ethnic Albanian parties in the south to take part in the elections.

Democratic Union of the Valley leader Skender Destani told the agency that Terral first met with Democratic Party of Albanians leader and municipality President Ragmi Mustafa in Preševo.

In Bujanovac, Teral conferred with Destani and Democratic Action Party leader Riza Halimi.

Teral pointed to the importance of the elections and of possible joint participation of ethnic Albanian political parties, Destani said.
