Tomislav Nikolic has called on rival President Boris Tadic to publish the contents of the EU Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA). “If that agreement is so good, and if it guarantees the preservation of Kosovo in Serbia, why don’t they (the Democrat Party and Tadic) publish it, then we, the Radicals, will read it out to the people at rallies around Serbia,“ the Serb Radical Party (SRS) deputy leader told a rally in Valjevo. SRS calls on Tadic to publish SAA contents “Kosovo is ours—if we are in power, we will defend it, and if we are not in power, we will help those who are defending it,“ Nikolic said. He said that the Kosovo Serbs must be given the chance to stay in Kosovo and defend Kosovo, adding that the Radicals would help them to this end. The SRS deputy leader repeated that “there is no more Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS),” and said that the “people of Valjevo will relax” after the acquittal of Ramush Haradinaj by the Hague Tribunal, because “no one will be chasing after Ratko Mladic or Radovan Karadzic round here any more.“ He said that Boris Tadic would have to form the opposition after the May 11 elections. Nikolic criticized the current government, stating that it was to blame for the economic problems and poor quality of life in Serbia. “If you are happy with this government, then circle one of them on May 11. If you are not, vote for the Serb Radicals, because we are the only ones who can bring change to Serbia,“ he proclaimed. Nikolic repeated that the SRS was not anti-EU, but that it would not abandon cooperation with Russia or any other Serbian ally in the world. Together with speeches given by the party’s top brass, a letter from The Hague from party leader Vojislav Seselj was also read out. Tomislav Nikolic (Tanjug)
