LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic said in Sabac yesterday he will personally help President Boris Tadic to sign the SAA. "Europe, with no conditions. I hope that on April 28 Serbia will be one step closer to the European Union. I am ready to personally help President Tadic in conducting the work that lies ahead as an obstacle to further European integration," the leader of the Liberal-Democrats (LDP), said in a campaign gathering at the Sabac Theater. Jovanovic says he will help Tadic with EU deal Jovanovic also said those to "blame" for the early elections, scheduled for May 11, are Tadic, DS, and Vojislav Kostunica, DSS. "We entered these elections after the debacle of the Tadic-Kostunica coalition, and those two are responsible for what they did, and for not letting the public learn the truth," he told his audience. Serbia, according to Jovanovic, "must be a modern European state and must lead a policy that guards people, not the one of false patriotism that destroys lives". He also called on the DS voters to "vote for what they themselves believe", and explained the essence of the LDP policy is "not conflict with those who stand on the opposite side". "The differences between our two parties have long since disappeared, and this strange relationship that the DS has toward us is more Shakespeare than politics, because each of the DS voters wants the same as our voters, and that is why we look to one another," Jovanovic continued. Beside the LDP officials, leaders of the Demo-Christian Party of Serbia (DHSS) Vladan Batic and Milan Protic also addressed some 300 people in the theater. Batic condemned the recent Haradinaj ruling at the Hague Tribunal. "This is injustice and a legal genocide of sorts, but not everyone holding office tried to demonstrate the crimes of the other side. It's all because of the symmetry of crime." "We did not wish to go through a catharsis and admit that some people committed crimes in our name. Therefore, we did not sufficiently mention the other side's crimes," reasoned Batic, who held the justice portfolio in the Djindjic cabinet. The LDP and DHSS leaders ended the day in Sabac by taking a walk through the city's streets, while some citizens shouted LDP's campaign slogan, "Spread on". Cedomir Jovanovic (FoNet)
