Vojislav Kostunica says that the “real intentions of the coalition gathered around the DS” are not yet clear. The prime minister and leader of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) said that the coalition led by the Democratic Party (DS) could not be allowed to sign Kosovo away along with any agreement offered by the European Union. PM “suspicious of DS coalition intentions” “It’s still not clear what the real intentions of the Canak, DS, G17 Plus coalition are, and what stands behind their great propaganda and shameless intimidation of the electorate with the notion that the whole world will collapse if they are not in power,” Kostunica said. According to the DSS leader, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel had already said that in “a bright European future, Serbia should build good neighborly relations with the NATO-state of Kosovo.” “That is why we must open our eyes, so that the Canak, DS, G17 Plus coalition does not sign Kosovo away through an EU agreement. Because, ever since Boris Tadic hired Canak and G17 to be the garantors of his empty spin that Kosovo will never be recognized, it is clear that they cannot be trusted,” he stressed. Kostunica said that “it is an inescapable fact that the leaders of the new Canak, DS, G17 Plus coalition are openly stating that it is madness to say ‘Kosovo is Serbia.’” “They are the first people in our nation’s history to have the gall to say that they have seen for themselves that Kosovo is independent. They are the first people in our nation’s history to say that is it collective madness to say ‘Kosovo is Serbia.’ We cannot allow them to be the first in the Serbia’s history to sign off Kosovo’s independence. They will have to face the fact that as long as Serbia exists, the truth will always be that Kosovo is Serbia,” Kostunica declared.
