The Sunday papers lead with reports about yesterday's car crash that killed five, and the Haradinaj ruling reactions. BLIC—The latest in a series of deadly car accidents in Serbia, this time in Vojvodina late Saturday, is reported on the front page: "Five youths die near Vrbas". Press: Serbia's deadly roads Playwright Biljana Srbljanovic, who is the LDP candidate for the mayor of Belgrade, is interviewed in, "We are shooting ourselves in the foot". VECERENJE NOVOSTI—"Five dead", more on the accident that claimed the lives of one teenager and four people in their twenties yesterday. "Home country in deep freezer", explores the standard of living in Serbia, and says that many get their food supplies from relatives in villages. The state broadcaster, RTS, director Aleksandar Tijanic says, "Defeat at the hands of Serbia worries America". GAZETA—"Arms for Kosovo sought", the paper leads with a story of a Kosovo Ministry official who allegedly asked the Defense Ministry for arms and ammunition to be sent to the Kosovo Serbs. The Kosovo Ministry is controlled by the DSS, whereas the MoD is held by the DS. GLAS JAVNOSTI—The contested legality of the 2003 sale of Smederevo's Sartid to U.S. Steel is reported under, "Sartid conundrum becomes clearer". "Bush invites Serbia to NATO", is the paper's take on the U.S. president's speech in Croatia yesterday. The fate of two major deals is uncertain at this point, and the front page brings analyses of both cases: "Highway: Only a fool would accept", and, "RTB: New offer at five to midnight". KURIR—"Heirs betrayed him", the tabloid brings the second part of the Djindjic interview, which the slain prime minister gave several weeks before his death. Mladjan Dinkic is also on the front page, accused of collusion with A-TEC: "That's not your family silver!", the paper tells the minister, about RTB Bor copper. POLITIKA—"Tadic: Urgent appeal to Ramush Haradinaj acquittal", the newspaper reports about the president's statement. While over the same case, the prime minister wants the Hague Tribunal evaluated: "Kostunica: EU must determine Hague Tribunal's legitimacy". "UN will start investigation into March 17 events", is about the meeting yesterday between Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. PRESS—"Why is there no justice for us Serbs?", the tabloid asks, as it examines the treatment of Albanian and Serbs defendants at the Hague.
