The May 11 parliamentary and local elections will be held in Kosovo, the government has decided. Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic, DSS, said Thursday after the cabinet session in Belgrade that the government had reached the decision to organize the parliamentary and local votes in the province as well. Cabinet decides to hold elections in Kosovo He told a news conference that the government will now write to UNMIK to request that the elections be organized, "as the procedure is very complicated". "The elections are scheduled for the whole territory of Serbia, including, therefore, Kosovo-Metohija," the minister said. The decision also concerns organizing the ballots for internally displaced persons, IDPS, from Kosovo, who are currently living in central Serbia, Samardzic said.
