G17 Plus says that Tomislav Nikolic does not have any respect for the Serbian people. “Following Nikolic’s statement yesterday that ‘the public does not need to be made aware of his property information,’ he demonstrates the arrogance of the Serb Radical Party (SRS), and is evidence that they do not respect the citizens whose trust they seek,” G17 Plus say in a statement. "Nikolic doesn’t respect Serbian citizens" “G17 Plus believes that it is good that Nikolic admitted that he did not have an apartment in Belgrade before entering politics, but it is still unclear how, when and how many flats he has received since entering politics,” the statement reads. “It is hypocritical of Nikolic to ask for votes from the people, and, at the same time, not want to show them his estate. His statement that he will declare his property when he assumes state office is contradictory, because Nikolic is already in state office as a member of the Serbian parliament, and he was deputy prime minister in 1998,” the G17 Plus statement continues. The party asks Nikolic to state what property he owned before entering government in 1998, and how big the flat was that he received just before the beginning of the NATO bombing in 1999. “We believe that anyone that wants to represent the citizens and lead the country must be obliged to show his bills to the citizens and release information concerning his estate, without any exceptions—not even Nikolic,” G17 Plus maintains.
