Unknown attackers from the direction of the Albanian village of Kosutovo opened fire on a KPS control point in Zupce at 0100. This was confirmed to B92 by Zubin Potok Police Chief Draza Bozovic. KPS Serbs come under armed attack Firearms were used, and police retaliated. After an exchange of fire lasting about half-hour, KFOR members from a nearby control point arrived, a Danish KFOR soldier informed B92. No police officers were injured in the incident, and the international and Kosovo police are conducting an investigation. KPS spokesman for northern Kosovo Besim Hoti said that a police patrol had heard a number of gunshots after midnight, and that one officer returned fire from his pistol. Hoti added that KFOR and UNMIK had been unable to locate the source of the gunshots, nor had any empty shell casings been discovered. This is the third attack on Serb Kosovo Police Service (KPS) members in the Kosutovo and Cabra regions since the unilateral declaration of independence on February 17, said Bozovic.
