He was appointed president of the District Court in Knjazevac on November 7, 2001. Knjazevac Mayor Gradimir Zivkovic said today that the murdered judge was receiving "open threats, which were taken lightly". "We were unaware that this kind of crime can happen," Zivkovic said in a statement to Tanjug news agency, and added that the local authorities demanded the perpetrators to be discovered and brought to trial swiftly.
