Slovenia hopes that Montenegro will receive an invitation to start NATO membership talks in April. The Slovenian Parliament Speaker France Cukjati, after a meeting today with his Montenegrin counterpart Ranko Krivokapic, said that Slovenia hoped that a decision would be taken about opening an intensive dialogue with Montenegro about membership at the NATO summit in Bucharest in April . Slovenia backing Montenegrin NATO entry “Montenegro is going the right way and that makes us happy,” said Cukjati, and added that he hoped that the Stabilization and Association Agreement ratification process would be concluded by the end of next year, so that there was a big chance of Montenegro being technically ready to enter the EU by 2012. Krivokapic today outlined to the Slovenian speaker Montenegro’s plans for Euro-Atlantic integration.
