Nenad Canak says that Vojislav Kostunica is trying to start a war in Kosovo. The Vojvodina League of Social Democrats (LSV) leader said in Novi Sad that Kostunica was trying to provoke dissension in Vojvodina, but added that “he will not be allowed to do so.” Canak: Kostunica wants war in Kosovo “War in Kosovo is being stirred up just as it was in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. That is the logic—let’s set things on fire and pick up all those who can carry a Kalashnikov in their hands,” Canak said. He said that Serbia had been narrowed down to the Belgrade “fiefdom” and Vojvodina, "which is a situation the LSV had warned against earlier.” The LSV leader said that his party would participate at the coming parliamentary elections in a coalition with the Democratic Party (DS), G17 Plus and the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO). Canak added that these parties “are ones that we do not have to be afraid of and can secure our elementary road to Europe.” However, the LSV will participate in the provincial elections in two columns, “because Vojvodina needs two hands.” “One will be the Together for Vojvodina list led by the LSV, and the other column will be a list with DS and G17 Plus,” he explained. The party forum which he addressed in Novi Sad was also attended by the president of the party’s local committee Aleksandar Jovanovic, MP Aleksandra Jerkov, and former President of the Novi Sad Executive Branislav Pomoriski.
