The Swedish ambassador says Serbia will probably join the EU between 2012 and 2015, together with Croatia. Krister Bringeus said that the EU wanted to accelerate the integration process, but that that depended on whether Serbia wanted to continue its European path. Swedish ambassador: Serbia in EU between 2012 and 2015 “The tango is a dance for two, one can’t dance alone. Europe makes it clear that it wants Serbia, now the Serbian government has to make it clear if it wants to continue its partnership with a united Europe. If it decides to do so, Serbia will become a member at the same time as Croatia, through an accelerated process,” said Bringeus. The Swedish ambassador was attending the opening of a new market in Lebane, together with President of the Coordination Body Branko Delibasic. Around 300 modern stalls for the sale of fruit, vegetables and mixed goods have been set up over an area of half a hectare. He reiterated that, since 2000, Sweden had allocated EUR 1mn to the south of Serbia and announced that it would continue to help in the region. Overall, Sweden contributed EUR 75.7mn and the coordination body EUR 26,000 to the market's construction. The project was carried out thanks to UNDP, as part of the MR 2 program.
