A Kosovo Serb leader says partitioning Kosovo would not be a good idea, since it would expose Serbs to violence. Rada Trajkovic, the vice president of the Serbian National Council of Kosovo, said that a partition would create problems for the Serbs living in enclaves that are not located in the north of Kosovo. "Partition would subject Serbs to violence" “If there was a partition, Albanians would have no reason to secure living conditions for Serbs. There would be abuse of the Serbs both within and outside the institutions just to make them leave their homes. I am talking about physical abuse as well,” Trajkovic told Novi Sad daily Gradjanski list. She said that there is "no room" in northern Kosovska Mitrovica for the 80,000 Serbs living in enclaves, describing the city as one with “four streets, and not whole ones at that.” Trajkovic said that the international community is not interested in discussing a partition either, adding that "it would make the return effort of Serbs to Kosovo even more difficult".
