War crimes suspect Branimir Glavas was not allowed to attend the Croatian parliament's constitutive session. Judge Zeljko Horvatovic decided not to allow Glavas to attend the session as defendants were not allowed to be removed from custody except in the event of serious illness or to attend events of a private nature, such as family members’ funerals. Glavas forbidden to attend constitutive session Horvatovic said that Glavas was not allowed to attend the meeting because his presence was not required for the parliament to resume work. Glavas’s attorney Ante Madunic called the judge’s decision to keep his client from the session "groundless and illegal." “This is a technical decision where the court has no right to get involved in something stipulated by election law,” Madunic complained.

Horvatović said that Glavaš was not allowed to attend the meeting because his presence was not required for the parliament to resume work.

Glavaš’s attorney Ante Madunić called the judge’s decision to keep his client from the session "groundless and illegal."

“This is a technical decision where the court has no right to get involved in something stipulated by election law,” Madunić complained.
