A Belgrade court has opened an investigation into a case of illegal sale of land in a state-owned agricultural company. Former PIK Zemun executives Milorad Djokic, Rajko Mandic, Dejan Kranjcevic, Lazar Ruzicic, Jakovo silo owner Djordje Bozic and court assessor Petar Muncan were all interviewed and remanded in custody for the next 30 days, Special Court spokeswoman Ivana Ramic told Beta Saturday. PIK Zemun corruption probe kicks off The six suspects, arrested last week, face charges of having illegally sold 300 hectares of land owned by PIK Zemun, in the process lowering the actual value of property by more than RSD 5bn (some EUR 60mn). The prosecution says that the group's criminal activity span the period of four years, from 2002 to 2006. The land in question is located close to the Belgrade-Novi Sad highway, where construction of the Belgrade bypass in currently underway.

The prosecution says that the group's criminal activity span the period of four years, from 2002 to 2006.

The land in question is located close to the Belgrade-Novi Sad highway, where construction of the Belgrade bypass in currently underway.
