Army: Smooth KFOR cooperation

An officer in charge of overseeing a Serbia – NATO agreement says the cooperation with the peacekeepers in Kosovo is going well. The head of a committee for the implementation of the Military Technical Agreement, VS Col. Miodrag Popovic, says that cooperation between the Serbian Army (VS) and KFOR is "progressing", and that arrangements over joint activities and their implementation are "getting easier and simpler". We are all primarily soldiers and professionals," Popovic told the latest issue of the Odbrana (Defense) military magazine. The officer reminded that the two forces are conducting simultaneous patrols in the Ground Security Zone, an area close to the administrative border with Kosovo, set up after the 1999 war. Popovic also said that KFOR and VS representatives meet regularly on several levels. Simultaneous VS - KFOR patrols are conducted in their respective zones of responsibility close to the administrative line with Kosovo, while they share information at checkpoints set in advance, the colonel revealed.
