The Hague Tribunal has refused to dismiss the charges against the UN over Srebrenica. The War Crimes Tribunal has turned down Holland’s request for the charges brought by victims’ families against the UN to be dropped. The charges were brought by ten mothers and wives of victims, who feel that their loved ones were killed during the massacre because the UN and Holland failed to meet their responsibilities and protect the town, say Slovenian media. UN representatives failed to appear before the court on June 9, claiming immunity, though they did acknowledge the survivors’ right to see justice served. The next session is due to be held at the Hague on December 1.
