The families of Kosovo Serbs killed and kidnapped have called on the MUP to ban the Guard of Tsar Lazar. The association said Monday that the police ought to act in the wake of a statement made by the group's leader last week, that this self-styled paramilitary group "will cause utter destruction in Kosovo and will not even spare Albanian women and children". Families of Kosovo missing want Guard banned The statement says that the terrorist Albanian National Army (ANA) controls the territory toward Serbia proper saying its actions "come in response to the Guard announcements." "No one has the right to jeopardize the peace and the ongoing negotiation process over Kosovo," the statement from the association read. The families of the Kosovo victims also called on war veterans, engaged in several-month long protest over unpaid wages, not to join the Guard in their gathering at the Merdare checkpoint, scheduled for tomorrow. Last week, Interior Minister Dragan Jocic reacted to the statements coming from the Guard leadership by saying that they will not be allowed to destabilize Serbia, but also downplaying the group's actual potential to do so.
