Conference on media responsibility for war crimes

A two-day regional conference regarding the media’s role in 1990s war crimes began in Dubrovnik today. The conference, entitled, Responsibility of Media for War Crimes on the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia, will be used to discuss the journalistic codex and the possibilities of prosecuting those who participated in media propaganda during the 1990s wars in the former Yugoslavia. Conference on media responsibility for war crimes Serbian War Crime Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic will attend the conference, as well as Bosnia-Herzegovina Chief Prosecutor Marinko Jurcevic and Croatian State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic, Serbian Culture Ministry official in charge of media Dragan Janjic, Croatian Hague Tribunal Bureau official Tomas Osorio and member of the Croatian Legislative and Judicial Assembly Ivo Josipovic. B92 CEO and Editor-in-Chief Veran Matic will be screening a new B92 documentary regarding hate crimes to the regional journalists and experts, and Croatian state television, HRT, chief Vedran Benic will also screen a documentary about the 1991 attack of Dubrovnik. The conference was organized by the Independent Association of Serbian Journalists (NUNS), the Sarajevo Media Center and the Croatian Journalist Association.
