Mladjan Dinkic feels Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica is ready to support Boris Tadic at the presidential elections. In an interview with weekly NIN, Dinkic said it would be natural, and that in recent talks had seen “ Kostunica’s evident will to support the president at the elections,“ and that it was just a matter of agreeing on a suitable date. Who will DSS back for president? The prime minister is eager to avoid elections being called during the climax of the Kosovo talks, though “he said that there was no doubt that he would support Tadic in the ballot,“ the G17 Plus leader pointed out. In the opinion of Dinkic’s party, the election date itself was less important than the need to maintain and strengthen unity within the governing coalition. He felt that, provided there was agreement, “any date would bring Tadic victory.“ However, Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) spokesman Andreja Mladenovic said yesterday that only party organs could decide whether the DSS would support the Democratic Party (DS) leader Tadic at the forthcoming presidential elections. Reacting to Dinkic's statement that Kostunica was ready to support Tadic in the elections, Mladenovic told Tanjug that the DSS considered all Dinkic's proposals with respect, but that only party organs could take such decisions
